School Costs

Prices are now available for E2BN schools who wish to buy a local caching server and subscribe to the Protex filtering system. These systems will provide you with local caching - thus maximising your broadband internet connection - and local control over which sites are filtered.

The prices quoted below are for the purchase of single units. Discounts are available for larger orders but to avoid complication they are not listed in detail here. To register your interest in purchasing a local Protex appliance please send an email to mailto:filtering@e2bn.org with the word PURCHASE in the subject line.

Costs:

The costs are based the total cost over three years and there is a discount for buying a three-year support contract rather than three one-year contracts.

NOTE: the Protex system will only run on this hardware. It is not possible to install the protex software onto other hardware.

Support cost includes:

 Hardware Maintenance and Software Support.
 Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm excluding Public and Bank Holidays.
 One year Contract. (4-hour Response).
 A 3-year contract option is available which is less than three one-year contracts.

 Filtering costs include incremental software upgrades and Protex list management.

 PLEASE NOTE that these are the costs for "one-off" purchases of hardware.
 Discounts are available for single orders of 10, 20, 30, 50, 100 & 200 units.
